Accuair eLevel help...PLEASE!!
This is going to be a long one, so strap in. Hopefully the Accuair guys can chime in.
I have had my Accuair eLevel kit with rocker switch installed and operating fine for about two weeks. Today I start my truck and the compressor kicks on as usual, but then stays on. I look down at my rocker switch and it is not lit up. I shut off the truck and the compressor keep running like my relay is stuck "on". Hmmmm..... I opened the hood and pulled the inline fuse, went to the relay and disconnected the 12V out wires that go to the compressors so I can trouble shoot, then put the inline fuse back in to make sure 12V is still getting to the relay. Here is what I have checked so far... 1. Made sure I am getting switched 12V to the ignition port for the rocker switch - check 2. Checked battery voltage...well over 12V. 3. Check all fuses and grounds....check. 3. Check push connectors at the controller and valves....check 4. Metered the relay....12V constant power in is good, ground is good, but getting 8V at the yellow turn on wire without the key on, which I think is telling the relay to send 12V out to the compressors...WTF? 5. Disconnected the connector from the eLevel controller that contains the fused yellow and red wires (same set of wires that runs to the rocker switch and the relay), removed the 3A fuse from the yellow line and it meters out at 0V on either side of the fuse block. 6. Plugged that connector back in to the eLevel controller and metered the yellow wire without the fuse again. This time I get 8 volts on the side of the fuse block coming from the eLevel controller. Keep in mind this happens with the 12V ignition wire connected or disconnected. SO...three questions... 1. Why is my eLevel controller sending a permanent 8V signal to the relay, which keeps my compressors running 2. Why is my rocker switch not working? 3. What else can I check?

The thing is, the yellow wire is putting out 8V to the relay - meaning when I disconnect the yellow wire from the relay it still has 8V coming out of it. When touching the yellow wire to the relay I can hear and feel it clicking. The only time that 8V goes away is when I disconnect the harness at the eLevel controller. My guess is one of two things: 1. The eLevel controller is messed up; or 2. There is a pinched wire/shorted somewhere wire in that harness. I am leaning towards the controller because I was super careful when wiring the system and all the wires are clear and well protected.

Re: Accuair eLevel help...PLEASE!!
you have a switched side and a coil side on the relay. when the coil is not energized do u have 12 volts to it ? if it does then the relay is not at fault . if there is no power to the coil side and it still has voltage to the comp then the relay is stuck closed and is sending the 8 v to the comp. I have had a bad relay for my ARB air locker comp stuck for my jeep before. the contacts in the relay arced closed and it would run on like the problem u have
