SBC with front mounts with IFS?

Here's a dumb question. On the '47 - '53 AD can a small block Chevy with front motor mounts be used if you're installing a typical IFS crossmember with rack and pinion steering? I had seen a post where a Task Force truck installation had to switch to engine side mounts because the steering rack interfered with the original front mounts.
