how do you tell the difference? I have original rear end 71 with 308 gears. but don't know if its a dana?.

I do not think this is a dana cover if it is 12 bolt. Most Chevrolets had 12 bolt rear ends and some GMC trucks ended up with Dana rear ends. They look very differerent. This cover will fit a chevrolet 12 bolt rear with 3:08 gears.
