what kind of oil pan is this

started cleaning up the engine and found about half a tube of RTV globbed in the "extra" dipstick deformity in the pan. Why would a pan have dipstick access fromboth sides andwhy isnt there some kind of block off if you only have one dipstick?
Also there were 2 metal rails above the gasket and under the pan? Are those like spreaders on valve cover bolts?

1 piece rear stock pan so like 88-98 truck/car roughly

but the engine is a 2 peice Im pretty sure. so thats why it doesnt fit correctly.
funny that the bolt holes all line up though. that stuff was all the same on the later engines I guess?

Bolt patterns are the same just different block form, i beloeve the knick sensor goes on the side opposite the dipstick so it has a bit more meat there

I looked at my 96 block and its got just a lip there, and yea yours is a 2 piece the 1s didnt have that plug above the timing area

That pan is from a crate motor it was designed with dipstick holes on both sides so it would cover more years. I have one in my 70 El Camino. The motor is also a one piece rear main seal

i think its a 2 piece. 14inch flexplate. flexplate bolts are 3.5" ish.

Also Im pretty sure this is from a corvette. Its a 3970010 block.

When I was cleaning the engine I found a sticker with a bar code on the side that said Quality Rebuilt Engine or something. So it probably was a crate.

A lot of rebuilds put tags on their motors. But you need a pan for an older motor
