Re: Fleetside Chrome

That does look good. I thought I had 2 sets lined up. One for myself and OrrieG. Turns out the guy had 40's Ford tail light covers and misc trim.

Re: Fleetside Chrome

Guys if you have a short fleet that did not originally have the trim, does anyone have the pattern to guide where to put all the holes in the sheet metal? ANyone have any experience with this?

I would start by looking at the assembly manual, it might contain the locations. if not, how does the chrome mount? Maybe you could make a reverse template off of the chrome piece itself.

BILL'S truck shop $1,102 and JIM CARTERS $295.65 total = $1397.65 for me personally worth every penny.

Also last week Bill said to spread the word he has the strips in stock.
Are they polished stainless or chromed steel?

They are Stainless Steel nicely polished to a chrome look, and Bill puts a plastic protective coat over them so they dont get scratched and you just peel it off when ready to use, I am Very pleased and You will be too.

Re: Fleetside Chrome

Did you ever get these mounted up? I'm interested in the thickness. My truck came with a full set of factory spears but one has a decent crease in it. I thought about buying a replacement but heard somewhere these aftermarket pieces are made of a much lighter gauge and easy to ding up. Any feedback?

I installed a set of repops if you have originals get them repaired they seem to be thicker and the curve is much nicer. Just my opinion look on my thread i just put some on mine but need restoring

mine are not installed yet, the ends need to be cleaned up "die cast" they are not matching up with the strips some areas are thicker than others and wont allow the strips to slide in, simple fix if i had a garage to work on it.
