Looking for production #for 72 Jimmy 2x4
I just purchased a sweet 1972 Jimmy 2 wheel drive and I am trying to find out how many of these were produced in 1972. I have found out through GM Canada that only 112 two wheel drives were sold in Canada. Does anyone know of the total production numbers for the States or of a site that I could access?
Just found this Board and have been quite impressed with the quality and quantity of questions and replies. Thanks for any and all assistance. |

Well you know there is one other in Canada, mine. How did you find that info out from GM?

fyi, most of the production numbers for GMC's were lost somewhere along the line. i think its about 1 GMC for every 5 Chevies, is the acceptable rule of thumb. at any rate, 2wd Blazers are rare here in the states, and Jimmies even rarer!

i thought the ratio was more like 1:3 Damn you GMC for throwing away the numbers, I would be very interested to know how many were built.
There were 985 Blazers built in 70 1277 in 71 3357 in 72 Last edited by Gee_Emm; 01-10-2004 at 06:32 PM. |

Wow - 3357 in 1972!! Thats a low number, I did not realize there were so few. Makes you think twice about wanting to modify one to much.
Mine is a CST with air, P/S, and P/B. Anybody know the numbers break down on CST vs. standard models? I knew I found something awesome when I bought mine.

GM Canada has a service that they offer to owners of Canadian made or purchased vehicles. Starting sometime in the late 30's or early 40's GM Canada recorded all the pertinent info on vehicles that were made or brought into this country.
Contact them at: GM Canada Vintage Vehicle Services 1-905-644-5843 business hours eastern time zone ask for George or Frank Cost $35 USD which is kind of strange as this service is only available to Canadian vehilces. Those of you south of the border that think you might have a Canadian vehicle, this service will work and what they will send you is how many were produced or sold in Canada that year, the options that are on the vehicle, where it was originally sent to to be sold and some other paperwork pertaining to the vehicle. |

Unfortuantely I don't have the technology to do that at the moment. The sheet is a type wrtitten response from GM with the above mentioned info. With the Jimmy, they were unable to produce very much info, do to the scarcity of the beast. They try to send copies of the sales brocure and technical data as well.
