Powdercoating springs?

I was wondering if anyone has tried this. I a new set of springs front and back for my truck that I would like to powdercoat when I do everything else.

Do you know if the heat will harm them in any way when the powder is Baked?

Thanks

Are these leaf springs or coil springs? If they are leaf, how does the powder coat hold up?

powder coating springs

Fat Man Fab's just sent me a set that came powder coated. I can't imagine them doing it if it doesn't hold up well.

If you powder coat leaf spring's and use the truck the powder coat will chip and wear it self to death from friction(friend built a land cruiser with em)... Coil's will last for ever and look good in the process...

The powder will create friction on the face of the leaves, but that shouldn't cause the powdercoat to chip off. A simple fix is to put teflon strips between the leaves when you assemble the spring pack. I used the strips on mine, less than $40 for a roll large enough to probably do 6 sets of springs.
