Goodguys - Columbus

I just rolled back in from Columbus. Unlike the previous years, the Task Force and the 60-66 years were very well represented (the AD years are always there!). I will post a few truck each evening. Check out this Task Force:

The Engine:

My favorite - the Corvette Dash:

The builder said they had to widen the dash 2 inches in the middle to make it work.

Door Handles from a first gen TBird.

Lots of trucks with a lot of great ideas!! Hope everyone enjoys.

Here is the front shot of a 1955 Chevy "conversion".

To an El Camino!

This build was the most impressive to me.

Here is a "laid out" 59 Fleetside. Notice the vanity plate - I guess he was tired of questions!

His engine compartment was really clean.

Ricott- Thanks for the photos. By any chance did you take any photos of the bed? I'm curious about it. Love the '55 wagon/El Camino too.

Re: Goodguys - Columbus

Rambo819 Thanks for posting your pictures. Anyone else that has pictures from Goodguys Columbus, feel free to post. We purchased out tickets in advance, and were able to get in as soon as we got to the fairgrounds (around 7 both Friday and Saturday). I saw a lot of cars and took over 800 pictures - and didn't see the surburban in your first picture, and the pickup in your last picture (both in your first posting)- so thanks again. That green truck you posted in the second batch was another work of art - I will post more pictures of it tonight.

I will post some more trucks tonight, and throw a corvette or two in for good measure.

Dan – I’m assuming you are asking about the black truck with the corvette dash. I'll have to look on my pictures tonight to see if I got one of the bed floor. I remember the bed floor was sheet steel (and had some inside tubs for the tires), and had 5 or 6 "spears" rolled into it to strengthen it up.

I'm almost certain I saw the truck in the builder's both on Friday - the shop is located in Martin, Tennessee.

Going to a big show can really get you going! In my build I had mentioned using a 60 truck dash because they were some what like the 63-67 corvette dash. I already have that dash, and a 59 Impala dash (that I really planned to use), but now I'm really thinking about that Corvette dash!!!

I don't know - but I can check my pictures. If I see a vehicle I really like, I usually take a picture of the "Registration" in the windshield so I can try and run them down later.

Marc - I'm assuming you were in your truck? I saw (and photographed) one that sure looked like yours.

Negative......I had planned on it but when it became apparent that none of my other friends would have their rides finished I decided to leave it behind. I knew no one would want to get up early to go the show to park the truck each day. We already have reservations for next year and plan on bringing multiple vehicles.
