I just went back through my thread and realize I left a lot out. I will hit the high spots. The truck was completed April, 2013. Upon completion, everything went south. I had been warned about the chassis shop I used, but failed to listen I guess. Several people told me he would give me a huge bill that I would not expect. Apparently it is something he has done to several customers. He would then try to gain ownership of their vehicles and sell them. I came to be what I thought was a good friend of his, so I didn't expect it to happen to me. Well, it did. I was expecting anywhere from $20K-$30K for all parts and labor, but what I got was a bill for $11K in parts (expected), and $40K for labor alone, for a total of $51K. I was floored. I immediately went and hired an attorney and had the court place a cease and desist on the truck. He caught wind of my actions and removed my entire rear end, rendering the truck immobile and held it hostage in his shop. We fought back and forth for a year. We ended up settling out of court, and I gave them way more than they deserved just to get it back where it belonged. The whole situation got pretty ugly in the end. I am not convinced that the attorneys didn't work something out amongst themselves. Anyway, I got it back home last Friday morning and got to enjoy it throughout the weekend before I had to come back to work. The truck feel very solid, and not lacking any power. The suspension is spot on. I had to chase down an electrical gremlin, and have some bad gas I have to run through it. There are a few minor details I will have to iron out before it is perfect, but nothing major. I have to get a new bedliner sprayed in, replace the air conditioner compressor, and get some new front tires to match the rears. I also want to get the seat redone once again. That should be enough details for now, so I will go ahead with a few pics.....

Glad you finally got closure on all that mess!! Sounding good in the video, but I'm sure it doesn't do it any justice. Are you going to leave the bars off the back? Looking forward to seeing more vids.

Particulars on the engine?
The 555/565 is one of my favorites as long as it's built to rev. Shifting at 6K with something that big is more like driving a semi truck than racing, you're always burning tires with too much low end torque and just when it starts to feel good, it's shift time again. I have a combo in the stand now that's 4.630 bore x 3.766 stroke, .903 solid rollers, goes into my '81 Corvette. Plan to routinely shift at 7500 but it should be able to handle 8K+.

Joe, I plan to leave them off for the time being. I had to remove them in order to load it onto the trailer, and have yet to reinstall them. I love the way they look, but it will be a long time, if ever, before I need them, so they are more or less just for looks anyway.

As for the engne, it is nothing more than a street engine. Dart Big M block, 325cc Dart Pro 1 heads as cast, Dart single plane intake, and 830 QF carb. The carb is soon to be replaced for a 1000 CFM QF. Howards cam 680 lift, 308 adv duration. Forged 10:1 pistons. It is a mild pump gas build, and only made 705/725 on the engine dyno. I will probably step everything up in the future, but it won't be any time soon. I will more than likely spray a small shot on this setup before I tear into it. If I go much higher on power, I have a feeling the trans won't stay together, even though they guaranteed it for 1,000 HP.

Joe, I saw your comment on the video, but I will just go ahead and respond here to save time.....Mark had his GoPro mounted on the rear of his truck facing towards mine, but I don't have the videos yet. He had to leave out on vacation the last day I was home. He took several pictures with his good cameras, too. I should get all that when I get back home next month. I will get some better videos with my GoPro at that time, also. I will get some from the outside of the truck, but I have to reinstall my fender braces before I trust putting the camera on the bedsides, though.
