New suspension/steering parts and problems with

I bought a MII Rack, control arms etc. recently, and I'm trying to install them on a new 49AD chassis that I bought with a MII crossmember welded in place. The lower control arms are narrower than the mount points on the cross member and the rack mount bolts don't align with mount holes. All correctable, I guess, but I could use advice for the best solution.

Most of the aftermarket guys use a tubular lower control arm that is made wider, like an A arm, to eliminate the strut rod. IMO, it's a desirable modification. Stock ones won't work. Don't know about the rack other than the earlier ones like Pinto are different than the later M-2 version.

Re: New suspension/steering parts and problems with

Keep in mind, when folks refer to a 'mustang ii' front suspension on these trucks, that doesn't always mean that it uses actual mustang ii parts. Often that just refers to the type of suspension geometry used, but modified or cross-member specific parts are needed to make it all work.
