new speedometer

Hi I am doing a resto on my 69 gmc and have taken the 3 speed manual out and put in a 5 speed from a 92. I have seen that you can buy a electric converter to cable thing ,that is too much money for me so i was thinking of a new speedometer that icould fit into the existing space. What would be the best and easiest gauge to buy to fit my applacation

Thumbs up Re: new speedometer

Speed hut has GPS speedo that will fit into the factory cluster. I love mine. I put there whole cluster in the 71. All there is is a hot wire and ground and hook the lights into the cluster lights. No cables to hook up to transmission nothing doesn't matter what gear tire size you run it's dead on. You don't even have to calibrate it.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Ok I am officially amazed by the speed hut site. I love being able to shop without having to call or email for a price!

Cool Re: new speedometer

I've had mine now almost 2 years with no regrets! The GPS is slow sometimes coming on but it is dead on when it does. All the gauges work great and they light up nicely at night also. I have been thinking about selling this cluster since I installed the LS motor to buy a can bus set to hook up to the ECU directly.

Your welcome. I really like their setup. It's real easy to install. I tied everything into the harness on the back of the panel with a pigtail so if I ever decide to go back orignal all I have to do is cut the tail off.
