Re: Best $500 or less spent

Do the safety stuff up to snuff first, tires, brakes front and rear, steering components, suspension. Then get or do a real tune up, rebuild carb, check distributor for mech & vac advance operation, new spark plugs, wires, etc. Now if all that stuff is good it's time to play, stereo, serpentine drive system, seat covers, head light relay kit, exhaust system........there's no end to the list.

Eaton posi-traction unit. Best 400 bucks you can spend on your rig.

^ I agree - exhaust (w/headers!), sway bars, posi are the first things I do to any truck I've had, and usually in that order.

Re: Best $500 or less spent

For me it is all about the stance. Do front & rear lowering springs, rear blocks and rebuilding the front end. I want it to look killer!!

Re: Best $500 or less spent

Sway bar, lenses and gaskets all around, headlight relay harness upgrade, new interior door handles and window cranks, and any other small parts that you never think about. Most just concentrate on the big ticket items but a bunch of the small things that finish out a rig really show attention to detail and take it to a higher level.

My 2 pennies

Cool Re: Best $500 or less spent

I bought the "No Limit" rear shock relocation kit and installed on my 71. Man what a differance it made. They are a board vendor also. Here is my photo gallery with install pictures. Start on page 8 and go back towards 1.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Not trying to hijack the thread but what shocks did you choose to use on that kit??
