Think I found my bad idle problem: Blown EGR Valve Gasket

Well, today when I was looking around my carb. I had a friend rev it while I watched for anything...BINGO! When my friend would rev it, it would blow smoke out around the EGR Blockoff plate. So I'm gonna throw on a new gasket with some sort of sealant (Can't I use just high temp permatex?)
Hopefully it'll cure the idle problem...

You don't need any sealant. If it has a riser block like mine you will need two new gaskets, not just one. Tighten it down & it won't leak. It is metal reinforced.

Well, it's an EGR Blockoff plate, so it's just an actual piece of 1/16th" Metal Plate, But I'll put two (the blockoff plate came with just one gasket)

If it is a block off plate just use one. Two is just another seam to leak. The metal in the gasket will make the gaskets not conform to eachother.

Tim,

Use just one gasket and get some loctite black RTV sealant and dont over tighten the bolts.

That block off plate you have now is too thin it should be no less than a 1/4" thick so it wont warp in the center when you torque the two bolts.

And some lareg area flat washers under the bolt's would help as well.
