Chevy truck wheels all the same?
I'm wondering if a set of wheels off a modern Chevy will fit my '67. My '67 is a mostly original 2wd long bed C10. I badly need new tires, and want something taller than stock to reduce cruising RPM. My 15x5.5 wheels won't fit many big sizes, maybe a 235/75R15 or 30x9.50/15. I've been browsing used tires, and mounted tire/wheel combos. It looks like a lot of late-model owners are buying new rims and have the originals available with tires still on them. Most of these are 6 lug on 5.5" center line, which would fit if the back spacing is close. Should I be considering this option at all?

Yes, they are all the same. I am not sure if the center hub hole diameter might cause problems when using some wheels though?

I've also been wondering if toyota 6-139 would fit. It's gotta be close.
Also is there a good source for used steelies in 16 inch? |

Toyota wheels will also work. I would go to the local junk yards and look for wheels on a 88 up 4x4 truck if you want 16 inch steel wheels, the are very common around here.

Watch the centre bore and the wheel offset. Newer wheels have more backspacing.

Re: Chevy truck wheels all the same?
Steel or alloy 6 lug chevy p/u wheels 5.5" 139.7mm bolt pattern are a dime a dozen on craigslist here in Arizona, sizes ranging from 16, 17, 18 from people who have upgraded to aftermarket wheels. I have found alloy wheels more resistant to getting bent than steelies. Sometimes even with the factory tires barely worn you can get a good deal, just bolt them on and save a ton. Remember however if the center cap retention requires the plastic caps that screw over the lug nuts, you will have to install metric lug bolts but that's easy just buy appropriate bolts and drill/install. Usually the fronts just pound in on disc rotors not sure on drums and pretty sure you have to drill rear.

Re: Chevy truck wheels all the same?
Oh and BTW, you may have to buy aftermarket acorn lug nuts that have a large enough contact pattern to securely hold the wheels on, depending on the wheels you select, especially if the vehicle the wheel came off of had a larger lug bolt. Stock SAE lug nuts can sink into the wheels and not hold as well as larger lug nuts. You can get extra large SAE lug nuts from a circle track race supplier. For instance:
