Vancouver Island Driveway Rebuild

Hi there,

Even though I am new to this site it has been almost a year into my 1969 GMC rebuild so I thought I might as well share what I have done.

I work pretty long hours and have a limited income but it hasn't stopped me yet!

Without further delay....here we go!

If this first picture works then I will post the rest later............

Re: Vancouver Island Driveway Rebuild

That is what the truck looked like before the build when I first bought it. It was my daily driver for a couple of months before I decided to tear it down to the frame and build it back up.

Re: Vancouver Island Driveway Rebuild

This was my little adventure to Kamloops to pick up ma second bed. 6 Hours one way through the mountains with a ferry ride.

Truck ran perfectly without any hiccups.

Re: Vancouver Island Driveway Rebuild

I would put a seat on the frame before I drove the truck. The drive shaft might give you a rug burn Ha Ha

Re: Vancouver Island Driveway Rebuild

I found a cheap car port to serve as a shop for the rebuild

Here is the frame before I sanded it down. The entire truck was solid!

After sanding I used POR 15 (this was before final paint)

Here is the frame all painted and ready to go!

I also forgot to mention I am renting and the land lady is not too impressed when I have truck parts around or when I am using power tools. This makes working very tricky, especially if she is around.
