Dana 60 rear in a 66?
I have been talking to a guy on craigslist who has a 66 4x4 rolling chassis for sale and say the rear is a dana 60. did chevy have a dana 60 rear durring this time period? looking to swap my 64 k10 over to one ton running gear, if it is a 60 rear is this a good option or would I be better off with a 14 bolt?

Re: Dana 60 rear in a 66?
I'm pretty sure some C20/C30s came with a Dana 60. My GMC 3/4 Ton had one when I bought it, and I'm pretty sure it was original (but not certain).

Yes the Dana 60 was an option under some of the C/K20's. I wouldn't be afraid of using a Dana 60, there is plenty of aftermarket support for them. The 10.5 14 bolt is a little beefier than the Dana 60, so I suppose it depends on how hard you intend to use your truck.

Re: Dana 60 rear in a 66?
FWIW I used to drag race the truck quite a bit with a fairly stout motor and never had an issues with the Dana 60, aside from a good bit of wheel hop when it would hook. I could have been lucky, but to me the Dana 60 was pretty darn tough.
