now i just need to sand them and make them look old or have patina
what do you guys think i have being chasing a theme in my head of the old hot rod look/ kinda ratty look to me it looks like im on track just want a totally different look

most the shine will be sanded off i plan to get skull & cross bone lace and mist it over the stripes then patina a bunch of it off to make it look like it was there for years kinda worn off look

I'm not a hater but those stripes belong on Chevelle and Camaros. It's ok to have our trucks powerful, quick or fast but they're not SS or Z28s. Not to insult you just a guy who grew up and have my truck and Chevelle still....plus I'm old lol

and if your old maybe you might have some suggestions on what to put on the hood so i can put a lace pattern down up to changing it just thought stripes would be easy

They look good, and IMO, to each their own. Chevy stripes had been added to all kind of cars, specially Fords.
If it were mine, I'd do the method you mentioned, about making it look old, but to the entire both sides of the hood, following the top perimeter edge, leaving just the center crest out. Laces and everything.
But again, it's yours, and your opinion has more weight than ours.

Well....I agree if you're gonna do lace you need a stripe or pattern of some kind. I think breaking the top of the hood into symmetric halves would be a lot of lace. So your stripes might be your best choice. ..hey I'm wrong sometimes. ..lol

I had a 68 Chevelle that had the stripes like that and I was ridiculed because they did not come that way but I liked them .Once you get the lace done to break them up a little I may change my mind . Its your truck and only you have to approve of the mods but I do like the truck overall and my opinion dont count .You may not approve of some of my mods on my truck but its all good ,that is what keeps it all interesting .

exactly we all need to be different or the trucks will look like they came out of a cookie cutter just like i think when guys spend all the money dropping their trucks to the ground i think to myself well why not just buy a car and go hang at taco bell kinda turning a American beauty into a Mexican low rider but that is just me if your going to drive American keep it that way

lol those screws are just holding the light there for the pic not even screwed in same as the ones holding head light bezel just there for the pic not installed yet no wires in the truck yet
