Evaluate my planned setup
Hi guys just trying to get some feedback on my thoughts as to where I want to go with my suspension. My 65 is going to be my daily driver once I rebuild it when I get home. I want it to handle fairly well and since I'm coming from driving a lowered Miata as a daily driver and a Nova with 650lb front springs I'm ok with a little "firmer" ride as I'm a spirited driver.
I'm looking at the ECE 4/6 drop kit but am unsure if I'm going to be happy with the kyb shocks as I hated the set I had on my nova. I'm also looking at the ECE boxed rear trailing arms and crossmember as they are much stronger than stock and allow me to run the exhaust through the crossmember. I'm also planning on running porterbuilt tubular control arms for improved geometry and a better alignment as well as their front swaybar. I'm planning on doing a c notch, just not sure which brand yet but I planned on boxing the frame at the c notch and maybe doing some of the front frame and maybe some bracing to stiffen the frame. As far as brakes go I'm still totally up in the air as to what I want to do. I'm definitely swapping to 5 lug but am not sure which kit to go with, I definitely want it to stop since it will be daily driven but can't justify a $3000 brake kit. I was looking at the properformance front and rear 14" brake kit which comes out to around $1770 without shipping but am I getting my moneys worth for a slider brake system or am I just kidding myself and need prepare to spend gobs of money on wilwood or baer? I haven't decided what wheels I'm going with yet but I'm planning on 20" front and rear with hopefully a 275/40 and I would really like a 315/35 rear (plan on widening the wheel tubs a little). Let me know what you guys think of the setup, I'm totally open to criticism and advice, thanks in advance. Oh here's the nova and my cousins c10 And the daily driver that's getting a paint job when I get home

I am just noticing your post here, and thought I would respond.
I think the plans you have, would be a good setup for a nice handling truck without going with a coil over setup. If all depends on how aggressive you want to get. Since you are not happy with the KYB's, I think the RideTech RQ's or HQ's might be a good option. A little more money, but I think will be worth it, and have what is basically a lifetime warranty (1 million mile). In regards to our brake system, I think you will find it is a very well performing brake system, especially for the money. That C5 caliper does extremely well and has some great clamping force. When combined with the 14" rotor for leverage, it is even better. If you did decide to go with a machined aluminum, fixed mount caliper such as the other Baer brake systems or Wilwood, I would suggest Baer. I say this, because they are a more streetable caliper. They are sealed and DOT compliant, so they don't need to be rebuilt down the road. They use longer piston bores in them, so they can add a wiper seal on the pistons, and this is what seals them. This keeps dirt / grime from getting in the caliper as well as minimizing piston wobble as the pad wears. They have some more features that are nice..... Bilsteins are a great choice or as suggested the RideTech stuff would work well. No Limits rear shock kit is also a nice set-up. I like the ECE T/A x-member but would not use their T/A's. Since you're opting for other Porterbuilt items, PB's T/A's are the way to go. Stronger than stock, drop built into them, & better articulation which minimizes any bind (which is something you know isn't a good thing w/a 'spirited' driver). The ECE x-member does offer the 'through' exhaust routing & so does PB's. PB's T/A x-member also allows the ability to tune wheel base, I/C, & pinion angle where the ECE unit is limited. Same thing for the PB c-notch vs others.... I like the multi piece design to add some strength back.

Thanks for all the info guys, I was definitely curious if the ece trailing arms would bind more than stock, I didn't know what kind of joints they used up front. PB is probably the way I'll go, more pricey but you get what you pay for and their products seem very high quality.
