Original radio rebuild?

I have the original radio in my 70 C10 and looking to get it working. Does anyone know of a place in Sacramento, CA..or close by where I can get it worked on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I asked a similar question a while back and here's answer I got:

If your near or in Sacramento use Ray's Auto Stereo, 1925 "F" St., Sacramento, CA 95811. (916) 447-9753. I just had them fix my stock AM radio and re-cone the stock speaker. Works like new. They are a little slow, took about six weeks, to get them back and a little pricey but they work great. They fix any old stereo/speaker. Good Luck

I have no experience with them and ended up going a different route.

Have you connected it and checked if it works?
I'm looking at a 67-72 AM radio and it has an antenna input, 12V speaker, and I guess ground.
It also says don't run it w/o an 8-10 Ohm speaker.

The volume pot gets dirty and needs some working back and forth to get rid of noise, and electrolytic caps go bad.

Maybe it works, or you can fix it yourself...

I agree with franken. You must absolutely run these radios with an 8 ohm speaker. You will toast the radio itself if the wrong ohm speaker is used. I would get a test speaker (8 ohm) from radio shack and try testing it. 9 out of 10 of the factory speakers do not work.

The other thing to consider is you should be able to buy a very nice working AM radio from someone on the parts board for less than $100.00. It will probably cost more than that for a repair.

and if you don't have an 8 ohm car speaker handy for testing, lot's of home speakers are 8 ohm or you could take two 4 ohm car speakers and run them in series..
