I have a 62 short bed fleet side need to install 65 bed

I have a 62 short bed fleet side truck I got a 65 bed with it how do make a 65 short fleet side bed work? Can I buy what is needed?

The bed off the 65 is the same IF the length is the same as the 62's frame. Should bolt right on....there's a fair amount of parts available.

The bed itself is the same AFAIK, but the frames are different in '60-'62. IIRC there is some slight work needed to swap them; I don't have an x-frame truck to check, but someone else should chime in shortly.

It'll mount.
But the mounts on the bed will need to be moved to line up with the 62 frame.

Someone has the flat plates for the channels. Just need to weld them outside the others to get the bolt hole feet in right spot. Might want to replace rear member to get holes in right spot or cut and move the triangular pieces. Mar-K or Bruce Horkey or LMC has the metal pads.

only difference is the rear mounts, you will need to remove the mounts and re weld further out.
