What is this relay and wires??? Also need a rectangular plug
Ok here are some pictures of some wires I found discretely tucked away behind the fender-well today. They were taped up and not hooked to anything. The relay looking box only has two prongs. A dark blue wire and a brown with yellow or white stripe, and the larger red wire. the relay looking box is kind of behind the hood spring! Absolutely everything in the truck electronically works. I cant figure this one out? Also whats the rectangular plug called that goes right under the accelerator. I can't find it in LMC for the life of me. I have my whole firewall plugged now except that.

What year is the truck? Are the wires hooked up to the factory plug coming out of the firewall?

Re: What is this relay and wires??? Also need a rectangular plug
I was thinking they might be some sort of the emissions wires but in 67 they did not have that at all. I am looking at my 67 firewall now and I have no extra wires like that at all much less the relay. Does it really looked like a horn relay?my firewall has that same hole and plug underneath the accelerator bracket with nothing going to it

Yes my horn relay and blinker relay are by the fuse panel. Whatever this relay is it's not being used. The wires were cut and dogged off.

Re: What is this relay and wires??? Also need a rectangular plug
What is the truck ? Most relays have at least 3 wires. Im thinking that is a circuit breaker and maybe for a tow setup or camper or 2nd battery or something ? Really dont know its just a guess. Never seen anything like that either. I have installed the post style breakers for electric brake controls close to that spot before but if thats factory it wouldnt be that.

Quick guess.. Electric choke, oil pressure. They both would of been routed down the pass side of engine. Looks like a newer harness for a 70+ truck.

Re: What is this relay and wires??? Also need a rectangular plug
It does appear to be a breaker. After looking a little closer the screws holding it are not factory. It must of been added for something but it is coming out of the factory harness and the plugs do look factory. Oh well its not serving any purpose so I may take it off and clean up the firewall some more. Thanks guys. But does anyone have an answer for the small rectangular hole below the throttle lever?

That hole is for a rubber bumper for the throttle lever

Re: What is this relay and wires??? Also need a rectangular plug
Its a pedal bumper but its not in their catalog. Its not the same as the clutch and brake bumpers and ive only seen it on 67-68 trucks so I dont know if anyone remakes it. I have never bought one. That pic is of my 67 parts truck.
