Looking to buy 71-72 front and rear diffs.
Have 3/4 ton diffs out of a 77 3/4 ton truck, want to go back to 6 bolt. Does anyone know if 73 and up would work, and what years match. need something out f Vancouver, British Columbia area. Thanks Ray |

Re: 71-72 gmc chev front rear diffs
Front is a bolt in deal. In 73 the rears got different perch spacing, and the shock locations changed.

Re: 71-72 gmc chev front rear diffs
Like Turp said front is a direct bolt in. Rear perches on 73 and up 1/2 ton are 42.5" on center and you need them to be 40.5" on center. If you use a 1 ton or 14 bolt 73 & up i believe the perches will be 40.5" but you will have to relocate shock mounts.
