73-87 step fuel tank in a 1967-1972
I searched and could not find anything. Has anyone tried putting a 1973-1987 short bed step side fuel tank in a 1967-1972 short bed step side pickup?
It seems logical that it should go in without many issues. The fuel door is mounted in the front of the fender on a 1973-1987 so it must be a long but narrow tank, correct? Is the frame so much different that the tank would not fit? I would like to remove the tank from in the cab of my 1970 GMC but I do not want the fuel filler in the bed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

The cab and steps on 73-87 were redesigned to allow space for the gas tank. No room there on 67-72.
