Re: 1957 Chevy 3100 build. "Clem"

Well my dad and I pushed really hard and got some work accomplished. We wanted to make use of the nice weather and shoot some primer. I sanded until I removed most of my fingerprints. I sprayed it yesterday. Came out very well. A fee small flaws to fix with spot putty and then it's time to wet sand for paint.

Wow! Your project has to be one of the fastest builds I've seen. Little over 6 mo from trailer to paint. Very nice. Just goes to show what can be accomplished when starting with a nicer foundation.
Any hints on final color???

Re: 1957 Chevy 3100 build. "Clem"

Well I wasn't actually looking for a project when I got this truck. I'm building a 56 Chevy 2 door bel air. It will be a totally stock looking gold and beige, factory interior, hub caps and white walls. With a 396 big block and four speed. I need to finish this truck to get back on that.

The truck will be 2012 Chrysler medium blue metallic. Basically what it looked like before. Lol.

Re: 1957 Chevy 3100 build. "Clem"

Finally time for an update. Got it in paint. After weeks of sanding and polishing the paint is finished. I installed all the exterior pieces and started on the doors. I lowered the rear another 2 or 3 inches. About to re - wire the entire truck and then finish the interior. Almost finished with it. Looking forward to driving it soon.

Paint looks great. I like the stance also.
Wish you luck on the electrical, that would be my biggest weakness, Never had much luck there. But if your starting from scratch may not be that bad.
Did you buy a wiring kit? I got an EZ wire harness for mine but still looks overwhelming.
Keep us posted , May have a question or 5, on the electrical.
