68 GMC steering

Ok guys have been reading forums for days i have a 68 GMC i just bought 87 spindles ,rotors and calipers if i read this correctly i either have to buy adapter sleeves put my outer 5/8 tie rods on the inside and use 11/16 87 outers.Question is can i swap the whole 87 center link and tie rods into my truck ?Trying to find out if it will fit the idler arm i'm putting 87 power steering box in .Thanks for any all and any help.Oz

Hey Oz,
Do you by chance have the entire front crossmember from the '87? If so, it's easier to just swap it in so that all the components are '87. I did this on my '70 and other than a couple of holes that need to be opened up, it's a direct swap. Otherwise you need to keep good notes on which components are from what year so in the future you can get replacement parts.

If you don't have the whole x-member, then I'm sure someone will chime in with the actual information you asked for
