Bagged Bodied and Track Ready? Best of both worlds.

-I have a 70 C10 that is bagged and I am a real performance guy. I am building an LS swap and should make about 650hp on motor. I am really torn and wanted to ask some suggestions. I love the look of bodied trucks, but I also want to get the power to the ground and track. I would like in the long run to run nitrous on the motor and get street slicks to put down good runs.

-Is there a good way to have the best of both worlds? Can I body the truck and keep it bagged, but spruce up the frame and other suspension components to run at the dragstrip? I would like to have a ten second truck, and also body it with different wheels for weekend shows.

Any thoughts? Thanks All.

I am sorry, I have nothing to contribute in answering your questions. And I have no desire to hi-jack your thread.

BUT, I need to know the specs on your wheels and those whitewall tires. I love the look and stance of your truck.

I got the truck with them on already. I think they are 15x7's with wide whites. Not sure the exact spec on the tire size. My guess would be like 195/60's or something close to that.

LS3 fully built motor. Block is sleeved, Bored/stroked to 427, rods and pistons with 750hp rating. carbureted setup. 650 at flywheel. Engine Builder is John West in Raleigh NC.

I just saw some pics of your motor. I love the turbo setup. Mind sharing what hp you are making?

I don't have anything to contribute but interested in the responses so I'm going to follow along. I too am building a bagged/LS truck but doubt it'll be a ten second ride. Be cool if it did though.

Sounds mean. Should be a serious runner.

I've got a buddy right now building an ERL 454" sleeved motor for his C6Z. He bought Tony Mamo's personal heads and intake from the Vader motor (google it).

Mine isn't any of that high dollar stuff, just a junkyard LQ4
Had it at the dyno this spring to baseline it. It put down 541 to the wheels on 9 lbs of boost (gate pressure) on 93 octane and 14 degrees of timing. That's somewhere around 625-650 flywheel hp depending on drivetrain losses. Planning to turn it up soon and switch back to corn. Shooting for 750ish at the tire.

Regardless, I'm subcribed to this to follow the progress. Rock on.

Wow, that vader motor is sweet! Those heads are massive. I'm sure that thing is a blast to drive around with in the bay. Those numbers are real nice for naturally aspirated motor too.

Good luck with your motor endeavors as well. Will keep an eye out for updates.
