Please help me find brake line fitting
Hey guys! I am trying to find a fitting that threads into my GM 12 bolt rear wheel cylinder. I have thru frame bulkheads that have AN sides for the flex hose that goes to the wheel cylinder.
What I am looking for is an adapter that will thread into the wheel cylinder but takes a 3AN flex hose fitting on the other side. I am not sure what size thread the wheel cylinder is. Here is a pic of the old fitting with the standard hard line. what size thread pitch do I have? Does a fitting even exist to do this? THANX!!! |

Re: Please help me find brake line fitting
Not sure exactly what you are doing. Do you have drum brakes on the rear or disk brakes? If drum, you should not have any flex lines on the axle, only the flex line from the axle to the frame.

Re: Please help me find brake line fitting
I'm sure any NAPA and most parts stores will have that fitting, or you can buy preflared lengths of tubing from any parts store.
Unless you have a tool to make double flared ends, you may just want to bend up a length of premade tube. |

Re: Please help me find brake line fitting
Currently I am planning on running drum brakes. But the plan was to not run the conventional hard line across the rear from drum to drum. I was hoping for a cleaner look. So instead I put thru frame bulkheads into the frame with the anticipation of running disc brakes at some point down the road. In the mean time I was hoping to find a fitting that would go into the wheel cylinder that would allow me to put a 3AN flex line on. I've seen it done this way with discs....Not sure why I couldn't do it with drums.

3/8-24 male inverted flair. This is the size on my 72 12 bolt.
