2000 6.5 turbo build or sell

So I got a 2000 gm 6.5 out of a 3500HD it is low miles 70,000 was in a service truck that got stolen and burned i tore it down and it has some water damage but will clean up with a hone. Thinking of putting it in a 73 k10 but not sure I am a diesel mechanic by trade and now my way around cat cummins and Detroit but know anything about the 6.5 built a few 7.3 and some duramax. What's the good and bad about these horsepower limits I got the long block intake exhaust manifolds serpentine drive brackets should I let this one go or get it back running I got it and the 4l80e trans for free so give me some info on the 6.5

Lot of info on 6.5's on the web. They are coming back people hated them but they are a good motor when cared for. Look at my build it has a 6.5 built for more power. I say do the swap it's easy and will get good mpg and with a little work lots more power.

Keep it if you got it! I have one in my C3500 and I am piecing together one for my Yukon. I love the simplicity and affordability. I had 210,000+ on my 96 and loved it.
