Bagged Bodied and Track Ready? Best of both worlds.

I posted this in the 67-72 forum as well, someone suggested I ask/read over here.

-I have a 70 C10 that is bagged and I am a real performance guy. I am building an LS swap and should make about 650hp on motor. I am really torn and wanted to ask some suggestions. I love the look of bodied trucks, but I also want to get the power to the ground and track. I would like in the long run to run nitrous on the motor and get street slicks to put down good runs.

-Is there a good way to have the best of both worlds? Can I body the truck and keep it bagged, but spruce up the frame and other suspension components to run at the dragstrip? I would like to have a ten second truck, and also body it with different wheels for weekend shows.

Any thoughts? Thanks All.

Yes you can. I have ran 11.16 on Shockwaves. We have a rail in the 6s also. I have multiple ways to do your whole set-up.

I am really excited to hear you hopped on this so quickly. I am really just gauging my project options at this point. I have most of my money going into the drive train right now, but will be ready once the engine and trans are in the truck.

Is a lot of the work going to be getting a new chassis, or can I work on the original chassis and add rigidity? Run a front cross member, rear trailing arms, etc? Thanks so much for the help.

Yes. It can definitely be done. Glad you found these guys.
My goals are a bit more HP, and I'm already bagged to lay frame. Want to run auto cross occasionally and hit the drag strip to let you know what my 1000hp means in seconds.

Your build was pretty awesome. Glad to see high hp trucks bagged, but still able to put the power down. I am already bagged, but low and slow. Once my LS swap is done, I will get a chance to see what needs to be done to get the suspension tuned for the track. Good to see I am not in this endeavor alone.
