Re: Intro Wheel Finish

This wheel, Intro Vintage, can be made in a 6-lug.

Great to hear. I would love to see a pic if possible as I'm sure it will have some differences compared to the 5 lug.

I'd like to see an example of it, as to how a 5-slot "kidney bean" wheel would look with 6 lugs. The Halibrand I posted above solved the 6-lug/5-slot issue by making it a 6-slot wheel.

Re: Intro Wheel Finish

I'll be honest Steve, I don't like that Halibrand wheel near as much. I think the changes necessary for 6 lugs may kill the look. I also think the finish is better on the Intro.

I agree on the finish of the Intro is way better. But I do understand why the 6-slot conversion was made and honestly? The first time I looked at it, the extra kidney bean didn't even occur to me. I think 6-lug holes would ruin the 5-slot look & might be harder to pull off than Pro Performance thinks because it isn't as simple as just an extra hole in the new pattern. I used to be a CNC machine operator/programmer & the extra hole on the 5 ribs would create a real challenge.

Agreed. I would definitely need to see one, I'm not sure that a 6 lug would look right with this wheel.

Re: Intro Wheel Finish

A 6-lug version of this wheel would definitely be a 6-spoke style. They would not just drill the 6-lug pattern in the 5-spoke wheel. I agree, it does change the design some, but I think you still get that look that most people are after.

They have never made one for a 6-lug yet, so there is no picture or CAD drawings. They did confirm it can be done and they will do it though. Just a matter of someone ordering it.

Re: Intro Wheel Finish

Maybe I should just replace the Coys on the '71! Maybe if I come into some extra $$ in the near future these will be on my list.

Edit: It can be cleared, but recommended as a raw finish. This finish is a little more work to take care of, but definitely a great look.
Can you expand a little more on what extra steps are needed to keep up the finish on this wheel?

Just want to rinse off with water to get heavy debris off, if any, and wash with soapy water and soft foam pad. Just nothing abrasive at all.

Re: Intro Wheel Finish

Is that a polished or chrome lip? What is your pricing on a set of 22 (8.5 front 10 rear) with this finish?

Re: Intro Wheel Finish

Travis, I'm thinking the Milner Concave is what I'm wanting. 20x8.5/20x12.
