66 License Plate Light Wiring

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement light housing/wire for the license plate bracket? I have seen (and accidentally purchased) one for a 61. I have also found the entire bracket with light/ wire included, but I can't find just the wire and bulb holder. Ideas?

Thanks!
Michael

Re: 66 License Plate Light Wiring

I went to the parts store and bought a prewired pigtail 12 volt bulb (kinda like what you see in aftermarket guages) then I gutted the old socket from my lens assembly, made a rubber gasket for the base of it, and sealed up the hole in the gasket where I pushed the wires thru it. I then just replaced the lens assembly on the bracket with my home made gasket sandwiched between and wired it up to hot and ground. I also drilled a drainage hole in the bracket for good measure

The links in that part of the index need fixing. Link on that page results in:

Re: 66 License Plate Light Wiring

That's the forum itself... it's having that issue all over, in different areas.

All I can do is edit the actual links... scroll down to visit the 60-66 FAQ Index.

If you'd care to, please let the folks who run this joint know about the issue in the Site Feedback & Announcements area.
