horn identification

Now i know i have a set or two of hi/ lo horns but i also have about 10 other horns and over the years ive forgotten which is which. Some have an H some have an E and some have a L. And they all came from 67-72 rrucks with all similar brackets. So which ones are my hi/lo combos?

Re: horn identification

You could jumper wire them to a 12V battery and see what notes they produce. You could do two at a time and see if you can come up with a nice harmonic. After all, better to hear them now than after you install them.

I just scored (eBay) a set of the FOUR horn set from a Cadillac that had it as an option. Literally uses the same notes as a train horn, so it sounds just like a train horn. Nowhere near as loud, of course, they're still just electric horns. But it's a cool sound.

If you have three different tones, it'll sound awesome or terrible. Try them out!
