2001 up ac in 67-72 cab

Has anyone tried this? Just thought it would make a very tidy install compared to the big factory ac. My truck has ac already but I have a 2001 donor truck and could just swap it all out. I'm starting the ls swap and trying to use as much new parts/ technology as possible. engine accessories harnesses and all.

Subscribed, I wanna know about this too.

I think it'd be pretty difficult dealing with the electronics, you'd probably need the BCM from the donor truck...

the question is, has anyone swapped in an ac system from another vehicle/year, if so what fits best??

Welding is a lot like sex, you don't have to be great with the rod as long as you thoroughly prep the surface and your good at grinding

This has come up before and I seem to remember someone saying they've done it.

I have a hard time believing because the space under the dash is much smaller on these trucks than newer trucks.

I'm wondering why none has made a full electric unit. There is plenty of room under the hood to put an electric motor driven compressor and condenser. Maybe even add a second battery to help power it

Here you go! This is board member ls1nova71. It's on an ls motor swap, but should give you some ideas if nothing else. Check out his full build - he does some really great work!

This is the opposite of what the OP as asking about. In fact I don't see the purpose. A square body evaporator, accumulator and hose ends can be purchased cheap enough.
