Tranny temp
Possibly sometime this month, I might get my truck to move under its own power for the first time in about 7 years. I've gotta hook up brakes, shifter and either hook up my plastic gas tank, or duct tape on a small can somewhere on the front of the truck. But my question is, right now, i've just got a small peice of steel line looping my tranny fluid, no cooler. I can't afford to run my tranny lines right now because I bought a big cooler and am going to buy AN line to run it in, i don't wanna fab up some cheap steel line and then throw it away. For just cruizin in the driveway, will just a loop be fine for now?

It'll be OK, but I wouldn't do it too much.
A buddy fried the tranny in his Formula back in high school, he figured that since it was winter it'd stay cool enough. The pig started slipping 2 weeks later. |

I run my race tranny's that way but round trip maybe its 3/4 of a mile to staging through the bleech box down the track then back up the return road to the pits.

Why do you run a race tranny like that? Stalling the converter will raise the temp so quick, and by not controlling the tmep you are letting in another variable to mess with your dial in.

I Run injection with alcohol so the motor never gets very hot which helps with the tranny heat! I also don't get on the convertor until my side of the tree starts to come down. I also run a deep pan with fins on the bottom and a trans temp gauge so I can cool the tranny with a squirrel cage fan!

to move it in and out of the driveway/garage its ok but id not drive it anywhere like that

Just for moving it around it should be fine. I wouldn't get out on the road with it like that.
