A/C O-rings
About to start replacing them all so I can vac down the system in preparation for getting it charged. Pulled out my little o-ring kit from LMC and organized them.
There are twenty-four o-rings in this kit! Are there really that many in the system? Are any hidden inside the firewall box, or do I just follow the lines and replace them at every junction? Are there any compression or flare fittings or should everything have an o-ring? Thanks! Dave PS: If there exists a map of where they go, that'd be spanky.

As I recall you bought new hoses and tubes. Mine from Classic Industries had the O-rings installed where needed. I never removed the A/C box on the firewall so I don't have a clue what would be needed there. I don't believe the flare fittings had O-rings. Don't think there'd be a way to use them there either.

I had to buy new lines because I had lost a tube nut. Not sure if I ever followed up, but it was stuck in the grommet! Anyway, I have a spare set of rings as a result.
My current issue is I cross-threaded the condenser fitting :-(

just match them up no theres not 24 in teh system more like maybe 10

I never counted but there are quite a few.
Don't forget your shrader valves. I put all new o-rings in and ended up with a leak from the low side shrader valve.

Check it for leaks at each stage of progress- UV dye doesn't lie, a sniffer can get fooled by various solvents and chemicals. Sniffers are handy, but a dye trace removes any doubt.
