Check Out These Barn Finds

Finally tracked down the land owner who lives out of state and got permission to go into this old barn to look over these old trucks. I love old barn finds like this and thought I would share...

Great find. I hope you inquiring about his trucks gives him the motivation to sell them and let them be saved.

Called him this morning and no luck on him selling anything. It wont be long and the roof with going to fall in on the trucks; there wont be much worth anything once that happens.

Sad really. I offered him a more than fair price for just the white cab, doors and hood and he said there's no way.

Hate to see these things go to waste as I'm sure many of you will also.

Re: Check Out These Barn Finds

What a waste. Reminds me of a beautiful, unrestored 1936 Oldsmobile I had my eye on back in the 70's. It was dark blue and all original. Every time we visited a friend I went to the kitchen window and eyeballed the car. I asked about buying it a couple of times and received a very unfriendly "no".

On one visit I looked out the window and the car was gone. I asked our friend what became of it, and she advised "That's it over there. He cut it up". It took me a moment to determine what she was talking about, but over in a different corner was a big heap of blue stuff. I walked over an investigated and sure enough, he sliced up the entire car into pieces about 3 feet square - all of it including the frame. Apparently he "really" didn't want to sell it!

Same old story "I'm gunna fix em up". Mark were you up here in the 80's? There was a guy that lived up on the hill by Holiday Hills BMX track that had a ton of Tri 5 Chevys. He wouldn't sell any of them and one day they were gone and so was he. He was probably in his 70's and didn't have a pot to piss in.

Cool find. Stinks that he won't sell. I'd give him a ring every now and then and see if he changes his mind.
