Which Quadrajet is best for my 350?

Hey fellas....
I just rebuilt my Q-jet out of necessity and found it to have some parts missing off the choke linkage.
So I'm looking to score another, rebuild it, and swap my old one out.
I know there's a million models of Q-jets out there.
My question is if there is one in particular that would be best for the 350 in my 1970 C20?
It's not performance modded or anything as I use it to haul deliveries around.
I'm not even sure what the stock Q-jet would have been.
I think I like manual choke for simplicity's sake.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers!

You can Google search Quadrajet ID and there is a link to tell you how to identify the different years. some of the later one had electric chokes. Or you can contact Cliffs Performance to see if he can help.

Contact Roger Koop. He is a board member here that can sell you the correct carb (if he has one available).

He can get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care,
Tom

Ha! So, by code, my '70 C20 has a '73 Q-jet off an Oldsmobile with a manual transmission?
Not that that matters, but funny to find out. It certainly feels like a "throw that carb on it before we sell it to that guy" kind of a vibe to it?

The Q-Jet gets a bad rap, but set up right, they're pretty good. Cliff Ruggles at www.cliffshighperformance.com is 'the man' for QJet stuff- let 'me know what you got and what you want to do with it- they'll set you straight. No commercial interest, and he's not my brother-in-law or anything like that. He cured the '71 Cheyenne's leaky, ugly gasoline depot- well, actually what he sent me did.

The BOP Q-jets had a straight fuel inlet in the front, where as the Chevy/GMC Q-jets had an inlet that came from the same side as the fuel pump... passenger side.

X2,
I met him at a Pontiac event in Dallas years ago. He's a no BS guy, he WILL be able to help you, if you let him!!! Every carb, regardless of make needs to be calibrated to the specific engine it's on. Cliff can get the job done...
He can advise you on which Q-jet is the best. The 76 and newer carbs are the best to work with. Cliff can make nearly any Q-Jet perform flawlessly.
