I have a pair of race seats that came out of my dads old boss's baja truck. Anyways, I bought a set of seat mounts out of the jegs mag and they fit my seats real nice. Question is, I'm trying to now mount the seat to the floor of the truck.

How do I know it's centered for the drivers side?

And how high should the seat sit?

Is question number 2 depend on what you're actually comfortable with?

The mounts are adjustable up and down as well, but I'd rather have a starting point rather than a guessing point.

Any help is much appreciated.

Mock it up. Set them in there,see where you like them,sit in them, and if it's anywhere near an existing bolt hole to use start there. If not,drill them all

go by where the steering wheel is to center the seat

Thanks for the advice. I've done each thing a couple dozen times. I'm pretty sure I got the seat just about centered in, but how high the seat needs to be is really bugging me. I'll spend a couple hrs till I find the height that I like, then come out the next day to sit in it and it's not comfortable. Seems like it never ends.

Reason why I'm trying to figure out the seat height is because I'm making a center console for it and the height of the console depends on the height of the seat (where your butt goes).

I'm six ft.I like to start with the seat centered in it's adjustment and mount it so that it fits comfortable from there.Then I have enough adjustment to go any direction.IIRC the 24 hrs of Le Mans was once won because the driver could shift his driving position,which helped combat fatigue.

That's a good idea. I'm also a little over six foot. Since my seat can be adjusted up and down, I'll center the seat and get it bolted down.

And I'm thinking for my center console, I'll set my seat higher than what I'd be comfortable with and build the console to that height because it's easier to make something shorter than it is to make taller and that's if I decide my seat is to high as well as the console.
