Very weird brake light issue

The brake lights on my 1980 C10 are ALWAYS on. Even when I turn the truck off and remove the key, the lights remain on. Only way to shut them off is to remove the circuit fuse, or disconnect the battery.

Any ideas or help with this electrical gremlin would be great. Thanks.

Re: Very weird brake light issue

Change your brake light switch, it's stuck on.

Re: Very weird brake light issue

Figured it out. The plate on the pedal which closes the switch (and therefore turns off the lights) came loose, and the switch was always open. Tighten the nut and bolt and she's all good.

I love easy quick fixes. Usually it's not the case.
