What's your sound system setup?

Just curious on how everyone has their sound system setup? Anyone have pics on 68 c10? Are their any aftermarket door panels that house speakers too?

Re: What's your sound system setup?

A lot of guys will goto the kicker panels and behind the seats from what I've seen I have been debating 2 5" speakers in a center console and keep everything isolate to that. Plenty of options even talk to local installers they might have an opinion on where they put speakers.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

I went with the custom autosound head unit, looks stock, but has an ipod port. I added the 6.5 inch kick panel speakers, and then added two more 6.5 inch speakers in the back along with one 10 inch sub. I also kep two 4 inch speakers in the dash location. All this running off one amp.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

Radio delete plate, iPod to RCA to amp to speakers under the seat. Had the iPod, Kenwood amp was $40 used, wiring $18. Couldn't be happier. If I get bored there's always Pandora on my phone.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

vintage alpine shaft mount cassette in the dash, alpine equalizer under the dash, and alpine amp under the seat. 6.5" Pioneers in each kick panels. The old Alpines still sound pretty good to me. They can still be a little pricey on ebay even though they are 1980's units.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

I did the Highliner and put 4 speakers and head unit in the ceiling, sub is part of the center console and amp is under drivers seat. Pics are in my build thread, can't get to photobucket from work.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

Currently:

Rockford Fosgate Punch 4" in dash
RF Punch 6x9s in doors (already cut)
RF Prime 4-ch amp
3.5mm to RCA cable directly to iPhone

Doesn't sound too bad but looking to add some form of tuner/preamp. Looking into one of the Clarion Marine units and hide the remote.

Thanks steve... Starts around page 3(?) on my build thread. Don't want to hijack this thread with a bunch of pics. I made them using a blanket and some Fiberglass resin.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

I've got the speaker kick panels, but the e-brake took the port side speaker grill off in a traumatic release. Also sporting an old no-name am/fm radio that lost its am which is most of what I listen to when I'm not listening to one of the two types of music it receives (country AND western). Need an upgrade for my uncut dash, but I can't decide which.

Re: What's your sound system setup?

Kickpanels and dual-voice dash speaker from Vintage Auto, RetroSound amp/8" woofer combo under the seat, and a retro look/new guts stereo. Not gonna rattle anyone's windows or make audiophiles feel sublime, but overall sound is pretty good and I can even hear the bass over the Magnaflows now... A must for long road trips!
