Pics of stock behind the seat speakers

Anybody have any pictures of the 4x10 speakers behind the seat? Mine were ripped out by the previous owner. Any mounting ideas? I already have the new speakers, and the wires are still there, just no brackets. Thanks guys!!!

If I can get to the u-pick-it before anybody posts a pic, I will take one my next trip there, they have one truck with those brackets, I should probably get them before they evaporate.

Re: Pics of stock behind the seat speakers

I built triangular speaker boxes using 1x pine for top and bottom and 1/4" hardboard for the face with a hole cut in the center - painted gloss black - for some 4" speakers. I think you could use larger speakers by adjusting the angle/size of the box.

Re: Pics of stock behind the seat speakers

I built speaker housings for my '85 years ago, still working well. Just cut some 3/4" MDF to fit in the corners behind the seat, added a top, covered it with some cloth and cut holes for the speakers. Really a simple project but I notice the treble was a little weak. Bass was fine. Apparently bass notes go thru the seats while the treble bounces off the back of them.

bigblock73 sells some he makes for a 6x9 speaker.
(I'm not pushing his product, but is an option.)

No pictures of 4x10's, but these panels with dual 6" rounds were easy to fabricate:

Nothing weak about this setup.
Perhaps this will help you install your speakers,...

It's a Jimmy, cheap and easy- wood and it kind of blends with the other "plastic" wood

Re: Pics of stock behind the seat speakers

My brackets are just made from from bent scrap. Screws inserted through the speaker openings on assembly,...
Works REALLY well!
Todd.

Re: Pics of stock behind the seat speakers

My pul-a-part obtained stock speaker brackets fitted with Pioneer 4x10s. Don't remember the model number. Had to slightly adjust the back cab wall a bit further back to allow the magnet to clear. Pioneer used to make a set of wedge shaped speaker boxes that just fit between the behind the seat shelf bracket and the corner. After many years, the speakers died and Pioneer didn't make those boxes anymore. The speakers were some non-standard size so it seemed to make more sense to switch to these brackets.

Yep, get these. The 4x10's will never sound as good as a 6x9, and the brackets Bigblock makes look awesome when installed (a non square guy wouldn't know they weren't factory).

Re: Pics of stock behind the seat speakers

I've already got brand new 4x10 speakers or I would go the 6x9 route. Gonna hit the salvage yard today and search fir the brackets.

I'm away from home until Sunday night for work, but I believe I have a pair of brackets if you don't find any.
