Milemarker kit for 203 part time 35 bucks

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2454433639

Hmm. I thought these were 200 bucks. It has a 60.00 price tag on it, maybe the tag is 20 years old??

anybody ever installed one of these? my 10 bolt front already has locking hubs, so all i would need is the kit to convert to part time. what are the advantages of being able to run in 2wd? is gas milage really that much better?

Well, you could lock you hubs in and drive in 2wd and then put it into 4wd on the go. now you have to get out and lock the hubs in to get into 4wd. Your driveline will last longer and your gas mileage will improve. Seems like it would well be worth 35 bucks. I think this will go fast. If you want it, I would buy right away.

not to mention you get a better turning radius when in 2wd.

i have heard that you need to run the t case in 4wd every once and a while to splash some lube around inside the case.

i'd say go for it...that is cheap

i do that with my 241C in my 91 about once a week, if not more. as for the 203, i dont think i'll have to worry about making it a point to put it in 4wd to "splash some lube around the case", it will spend plenty of time there for more serious reasons.

The prices for the milemarker kits in summit are $39.95 without hubs and$95.99 with hubs.It is well worth it in my opinion. My truck turns better and less wear on the front tires.Milemarker says to put it in 4wd about every 200 miles. All you have to do is shift the case into 4wd for a few miles. It took about 3hrs with the new hubs to install.

OK, If they are 39.99 at Summit then this is an OK deal, but not considered legal theft or anythng. I thought they were more money.

Right now it is a 35.00 buy it now price. If interested,I would bid on it.If you lose, you know You can get one for 40.00.Even at the 35.00 it's not bad if you are sure it is all there. The prices are more than half of what they were 20 years ago!I had a 78 ford that I put a milemarker kit in,in1982.I am sure it was close to $200.

I believe they have two different kits one more in depth than the other. Could be wrong though.

The one in the auction is a 501 kit,it comes without hubs. The 502 kit has hubs. There is also a kit that replaces the output shaft. It is the best because it removes some of the play in the driveline. It is also in the $200-300 price range.Milemarker also has a kit to take the play out of a higher milage chain. Also have new chains.

well, my front axle already have hubs, so i should be good with this kit. i think i might go ahead and spend the extra $5.00 and buy one from Summit if they're only $40.00. if i buy from them i'm guaranteed to get all of the parts, plus a reciept so that if anything goes wrong, i can send it back.
