Uh. C notch isn't really something you wanna try n do if you don't know what you're doing, prolly better off finding a shop to do it, It'll cost more but it'll be done right.

Here you go. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=196013
Good luck with your install. Just make sure you don't remove too much frame where you could possibly create a large gap that will need welded up. You want every bit of the C- notch touching the frame notch...just take your time.

Re: c-notch install help 68 chev truck
If you have the budget for a Porterbuilt 2 piece C-notch it really is the way to go. It is so easy to install once you get pass all the rivets that need removed first. The metal is 2x thicker than all the one piece c-notches.

Re: c-notch install help 68 chev truck
I did my own. I recommend using an air chisel to knock out all the rivets. That was the worst part of it.

This is one of those things that you really should not try if you do not know exactly how to do it and have the experience to do it right. A frame is a bit tough to fix once it's botched and your truck won't be worth much until it's done correctly. |

To go back to the original issue though: Because I'm a moron , I decided AFTER I painted my truck it still needed to be lower, making a c-notch necessary. I didn't want to remove my bed so I did it while it was still on. Anything is possible. Just take your time and it will all work out.
