Neutral safety switch
I have a 1974 gmc with a 4 speed thats been replaced with a 700r4, looking under the dash i found a purple wire and a purple with white stripe wire looks to be a 12 gauge wire is this the neutral safety switch? The wires have been jumpered together at the white plastic coupler. If i remove the jumper the truck starts and runs. If i remove it, it turns over but dosent start.

Re: Neutral safety switch
That looks just like the safety switch connection in my 77 Blazer. My switch that connector plugs into was bad and I had to jumper the wires to make mine run. Odd that yours runs with the jumper removed.
