What seat foam?
I need to rebuild my seat in the 66 and was wondering what density foam to use. The seat was recovered at one time and the cover is good but the burlap is falling apart and the cotton padding is falling out now on a daily basis. I was thinking 2 inch medium density for the bottom and 1" for the back. Does that sound about right?

Re: What seat foam?
When I had my custom cover done for the 63, we used 5" on the seat and 2.5" on the seat back. This was on a standard seat frame.
The factory was 6" on the deluxe seat, not sure about standard, but if I remember correct, it was only maybe 2 or 2.5". The 65 deluxe seat I have is on the correct frame and has 6" foam.

Re: What seat foam?
Check around with upholstery shops. You may be able to have them do it for less than you will pay for the foam. The foam is the expensive part. I did the seat for my C20 several years ago. I used 2" medium density on the back and for the bottom I used 3" of high density topped by 2" of medium density. Just the foam itself cost right at $300. Doing it again, I would just take it to an upholstery shop, even though that seat did end up like a big comfy couch.

Re: What seat foam?
Foam is available on line for less than $80 for 2 sheets of 2" 24X72 and 2 sheets of 1" 24X72 all medium density. Found it on Amazon. Its a standard frame so it looks like 2" is it. I have done several covers so I have the hog rings and pliers and an old electric knife for cutting foam.

Re: What seat foam?
Since I was cutting and pasting, here is a seat from Mator.
