1970 Longhorn production
Of the 488,521 Chevy trucks produced in 1970 only 5281 of them were longhorns, or about 1% of total production.
Does anyone have data on GMC output? I can only find Chevy numbers. I presume the GMCs are even less common overall.

I have a 70 big block Longhorn. It's more rare than the "corvette engine" option!

Re: 1970 Longhorn production
Mine's a big block too. Problem is you can't multiply option probabilities. For example if 10% of the trucks had big blocks and 2% had speed warning you can't multiply and say that 0.2% of trucks were big blocks with speed warning.
That's because the people that were buy up-optioned trucks bought more than one option, so if you had a big-block the chances you had speed warning were likely higher than 2%, if that makes sense. I'd love to know how many big block Sierra Grande Custom Campers there were, but I've never seen a breakdown like that.

Re: 1970 Longhorn production
I have what's left of a '71 GMC Longhorn. 350/$ speed, but no clue about production numbers.

No one knows as most of the GMC info burned in the fire.

Re: 1970 Longhorn production
Because of the Union Strike in 1970 production numbers are low.
So if you have BB truck loaded with options it will be a low production model.

Re: 1970 Longhorn production
Interesting stuff here.
From what I am reading the '69 GMC 2500 Custom Camper (Longhorn) I had might have been a low production unit. It was a good truck but just could not keep both my '69 Chevy 396 truck and the '69 GMC. The wife did not like the longhorn looks, so she made the choice for me...
