A sweet truck I didn't buy

About two years back I almost bought this truck, but luckily I clashed with the seller over him wanting me to do the deal outside eBay, which spooked me. So I ultimately wound up buying a survivor and doing my own restoration.

I still think this was a nice truck though! Unlike mine, I think it has the real deal hubcaps as well.

Nice looking truck. If you had bought it, you'd be missing out on all this fun!

I believe it has the wrong hubcaps. The centers appear to be concave. Unless 3/4 ton GMCs are different from Chevys, the centers should be convex with a black background around the "GMC".

Well I see a mistake in the ad copy ... Says its a once in a lifetime chance to buy ... I believe its your second chance in a lifetime.

Nice looking truck.

You're right. I just learned this in this thread, but keep getting it backwards in my head!

I don't follow on why you were spooked by not going through ebay. He didn't want to because they charge a fat commission. Where you not going to buy it in person, but have it shipped?

Yes, I think so. I usually fly out but the photos seemed complete enough.

I think it's unethical to use eBay as an advertising method and then not want to pay them for the service when the vehicle sells through an eBay buyer.

If it sells locally, fine, cancel the auction and sell it locally. But if you sell it through eBay, pay the piper.
