Truck won't start

Ok. As some of you know I blew the trans in my c20. Well it has been like 6 months and I just put one in. Well about month ago I charged the batt to fire it up. I near had an engender fire. The guy I got the truck from wired in an aftermarket batt gauge from starter strate to battery. Then wired the radio from starter to batt. Well he poked the wires thru firewall. The radio wire got super hot melting it and guage wire and a berry small hole in batt. nothing elce. Now she won't crank what do I do!!!

Re: Truck won't start

When you say "won't crank" I am assuming that the motor will not turn over. Check to see if you have power from the start side of your ignition switch to the starter solenoid. Also have you checked the fuses? If the starter has power from battery to the main post on the solenoid then check to see if the start wire on the ignition switch is sending power to the solenoid. Also make sure you have the grounds intact to the body. You can also just try using a starter button on the solenoid at the starter to see if it will crank. Then go back from there.
