Another new guy

Your typical long time lurker here. PNW native, a&p mechanic, 1966 beater project. I've had 3 c10's, but they were a 73, 76 and an 84. My father in-law got me hooked on the 60-66 trucks about 5-6 years ago. I bought a 66 lwb roller for $300 about a year ago and the rest, as they say, is history.

Re: Another new guy

Wow...total noob mistake. Came straight to the 60-66 section with an intro without looking at the home page. Admins, feel free to move this to the appropriate section.

Cool! Hopefully those " run ups" stay on the taxi way. The coffin can single pot master may not be enough to hold back the hairdryer

Ha! Rotorcraft mechanic here. No taxi ways required.

Eventually that master cylinder is going away along with the rear drums.

Everything seems to take 2-3 times longer than normal because I'm only home about 180 days a year. I work out of the country on a 21on/21off rotation. So yeah...slow going build for sure. It also doesn't help that I have "selective OCD" lol. The truck has been in Eugene for a bit getting the manifolds and hot side piping done.

As for the engine, it's really nothing special. It made 422hp/412tq on motor on 91 pump gas with a 600cfm shop carb. I didn't really have it on the dyno very long. Enough time to leak check, seat the rings, play with the timing, make some valve adjustments and make a couple power pulls. I probably could have squeezed a bit more out of it, but I didn't really see a reason at that point. It's eventually going to be e85 fed.

8.5:1 355sbc
010 4 bolt block
AFR 195 street heads
Bullet cam
Probe slugs
Eagle Rods
GM forged crank
Vic Jr intake
CSU 750 carb (still have to order)
twin 44mm Tial wg's
BW s475
an old ETS air-air FMIC

It's currently in a typical project state. Lots of temporary installed parts, temporary brackets, mounts, etc. My goal is to get the turbo set up done, get it back on a dyno, see what it makes for power, then continue on from there. Aside from chopping up the core support (which will be reinforced later on), reinforcing the trailing arms and bolting in a Boyd Welding fuel tank, the truck hasn't been touched. LOOOOOONNNG way to go.
