TH350 Kickdown
My kick-down is not working on my new transmission. Should I just tighten the cable a little (adjustable Lokar) or could that cause internal damage? Not sure what action to take to correct the problem. It was set by a local transmission shop previously.

Re: TH350 Kickdown
I have an ATP kick-down cable replacement and the setup is very similar. While the engine is off make sure the cable itself extends/retracts smoothly first, if not it might be binding. Then open up the clip on the bracket and manually open the throttle on the carb all the way. While holding the throttle open release/close the bracket. From what I read the kick-down is far less integral or detrimental in operation than a TV cable for an overdrive tranny. It took me a couple of tries for the "kick-down' to kick! http://www.lokar.com/downloads/pdf-i...acket-Only.pdf

Re: TH350 Kickdown
The kickdown in the older Turbo Hydramatics is just that... a kickdown to 2nd gear. It will also allow the transmission to downshift and hold it in second like when taking a corner at slower speeds.
You can even disconect it if you want, and it will only affect the 3 back to 2 shift. So if you want passing gear you will have to manually shift it down. The only thing it will do if misadjusted is annoy you as it either downshifts way to early, or way to late, or not at all. Gary
